A not so important post

Am on a Saarang high, over the weekend. As usual they don’t allow photograhic equipment inside the Open Air Theatre. So the digital camera that I carry along would be frisked. Hence, will post some pictures taken outside. Picture postcards of current fashion.

My mom celebrated the silver jubliee year of Sumeet mixie in our house. It was bought somewhere in the early 1980 when I was still a crying mama in the kindergarten. It stills rotates faster(!) to make yummy Thenga Chutney and Pudhina Thugayal. May sound trivial. But I am just thinking, as engineering gets better, do the contemporary products have better life. To think back, our B/W Solidaire lived longer than our recent color Videocon television. I understand the usage has increased but still. I am not sure how long my philips ‘digital’ television will continue to show images un-distorted ? I hope it happens sooner than two years. A plasma television might just come barge into my drawing room, only then.

Too bad no cameras were allowed.
What I would have done is given to an IItian before Saarang started and then go in, and then get the camera back from him and use it.
I am pretty sure they dont check students.

Yeah, agree with Sat.Do it ‘The Godfather’ style. Have the camera taped somewhere(not necessarily a Flush Tank) earlier, then go pick it up. As for the engineering part, can’t help but agree. That’s the case with buildings as well. The 30yr old house is still rock solid, whereas some of the neighbouring 5yr old apartments have developed cracks already!

Mr. Geek, interesting thoughts. the company I work for is interested in making products that work better but not necessarily for longer. Planned Obsolescence — they call it. Supposed to be necessary for the triumph of a consumer society (or it is just another pyramid scheme: when technology won’t improve anymore we will just have ottai odaisal, and no jobs ).
I think nobody wants to be like the potter who discovered how to make a paanai that never breaks…

    Hi Guru,

I didnt take your advise on going for the rock show at Sarang on Sat. Instead, ventured out to watch Thuripachi. Oh my god, somehow watched the entire movie. Would have been better off had I taken your advice I guess.

If only there were a way to start a city or an army made up of lovers and the boys they love! Theirs would be the best possible system of society, for they would hold back from all that is shameful, and seek honor in each others eyes. Even a few of them, in battle side by side, wouldconquer the world, Id say. For a man in love would never allow his loved one, of all people, to seehim leaving ranks or dropping weapons. Hed rather die a thousand deaths! And as for leaving the boy behind, or not coming to his aid in danger – why, no one is so base that true love could not inspire him with courage, and make him as brave as if hed been born a hero.WeddingCruisesWedding planningWedding planning checklistWedding dressesWedding rings Wedding cakes Wedding favorsWedding bands Car RentalWedding musicWedding invitationsWedding receptionWedding giftsWedding anniversaryVoIPVoIP
