Saarang 2005 which just went by had some cool moments that would be recorded in the official photographer’s camera. But here are some Saarang images that I clicked. I personally liked to click them because the pictures have an amateurish flavor as you can see. And these were clicked outside the OAT [Open Air Theatre] where the pro shows were conducted. They frisk chewing gums to cameras at the entrance of OAT and hence I didn’t want to take along my camera inside.
Have put in captions for each of the images. They were selling a photo CD of Saarang 2005 at the venue, which had images shot during all the professional shows and the crowd of Saarang. It had pics that were something like the Spirit of Saarang and was just costing 20 bucks. If I can get hold of that CD, will upload some professional show pictures taken from the terrace of the OAT, for those who missed Saarang 2005. Do let me know if you enjoyed the pics. Also will write about Prasanna’s Jazz show.
Thanks to the Google Picasa. As Google released Picasa 2, last week, I downloaded and to my suprise found it a lot better than what I had expected. So the picture page that you will be seeing is a Picasa generated page. All I did was to download the images from the camera and clicked on export to webpage. Vroooomm. It’s Done. Great software as it even digged my entire computer to bring out pictures that I was assuming to be mis-placed. Try Picasa for your PC.

i’m waiting eagerly for the report on Prasanna’s show. the thing is – one of the guys who apparently performed with him Jeff Coffin is an incredibly talented saxophone/horns player, and a member of the off-beat band “Bela Fleck & the Flecktones” (i love them – they are one of the more popular jambands in the US). So it would’ve been really cool to see Prasanna jamming with him.
Anyways .. will wait for your report 🙂
Quick one. It rocked and they jammed well.
Hey Lazy thanx for the Pics. One ques. when u post pics do u have to get permission from the people who r there in the pic?
Why ? Do you know someone on the pic 😉
Usually on a public event like this it’s fine to take pics but then it’s a good practice to ask them before you click.
Pictures are really cool. It feels like a personal trip to Saarang. Hopefully someday my vacation and Saarang get together.
Picasa 2 is an excellent software. It’s got a lot of good features added onto the basic Version of Picasa. There is a way in this version to make movies out of pictures which is really cool. I used it to create a movie of my brother’s marriage pictures and then added a song to it using Windows Movie Maker, that came out really well. And it’s got more options for beautifying your digital pictures than the earlier version. Although I found one small issue with it, when I installed Version 2 of it, it couldnt detect that I had the previous version installed in it. I had to manually uninstall the previous version!
Thanks Anand and yeah, you need to manuall uninstall the prev version. Will send a mail to google picasa help to get the bug fixed.
Well, I really needed it.
I miss Saarang.
Nice pictures dude. Btw, how did you manage to sneak your camera inside? Heard, too much fuss about carrying a camera inside.
Sat, I know you would miss the Saarang.
Vasanth, I didn’t sneak in the camera. These were snaps taken outside the open air theatre. its only inside the OAT, the cameras were frisked.
nice snaps lazy, its been 4 years since i went to saarang..the only thing missing from your post is the sound of the loudspeaker telling someone or the other that they’re wanted at the hospi desk.
is it still like that?
Yo.. en ya en sogatha increase pannara.. indha madhiri photo ellam pidichi :((
Wish I had gotten into the IIM’s, atleast I could have come to Saarang for 2 more years.
